The Kisii National Polytechnic was founded in 1971 as the Gusii Institute of Technology and elevated to national polytechnic status in May 2016.

2. Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)
KMTC Kisii Campus is one of 71 KMTC colleges across Kenya and one of the oldest training institutions in the region, having been established in 1958.
It is located along Kisii Hospital Road, adjacent to the Kisii County Teaching and Referral Hospital.
The campus hosts over 960 students and is equipped with modern medical skills labs, an Orthopaedic workshop, and a medical laboratory for practical training.
